By Anonymous June 30, 2004 -- Award-Winning Foreign Language Communications Company to Provide Telephone Interpretation Services as a Response to Increased Demand
Mt. Airy, Maryland (June 28, 2004) – Language Masters, Inc. announced today its expansion into telephone interpretation services in many languages as a value-added extension of its current interpretation practice, according to Denise M. Russell, president and CEO.
Language Masters’ services employ certified interpreters in over 130 languages. Each interpreter is skilled in terminology in a variety of fields, from healthcare to law. For a flat per minute fee, clients can now be greeted by a live, friendly operator in any of the offered languages. The multilingual operator then connects the caller with an interpreter trained to facilitate communication between English and foreign language speakers.
“We are delighted to provide this new service as a direct response to the demand from our customers in the government, private industry and non-profit organizations,” said Russell. “With this expansion of our interpretation department, we will be better positioned to fulfill the needs of our client base as they interact with foreign language speakers or with the limited-English speaker.
Added Russell, “It is our contribution, as language experts, to the call to action issued by the Department of Defense at the National Language Conference held last week at the University of Maryland.”
Russell said that users are assigned a code that they give to the operator when calling the 800-number to request an interpreter for a particular language. When the call is completed, the user and the interpreter simply hang up.
“Our goal is to provide, continually, the highest quality language service available in the nation. We also know that it is important for our clients to be aware of and to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,” said Russell.
“From European and Asian languages, to the more exotic ones such as Chukchi, Punjabi and Uzbek, Language Masters' certified interpreters are courteous and knowledgeable," Russell said. “They understand the importance of bridging the language gap between the speakers in a professional, confidential and neutral manner.”
